ALISON JOHNSON

Contemporary Artist | Coventry, Warwickshire, England

Alison Johnson is a contemporary artist based in Warwickshire, working from her studio at Fargo, Coventry. Her work explores the abstract and surreal aspects of the natural world, particularly through the interplay of light and water. Johnson’s atmospheric seascapes and landscapes modernise traditional themes, using misty, dreamlike elements and dramatic contrasts between darkness and light.

Her compositions often evoke a sense of fragility and vastness, with figures and shapes appearing lost within sweeping, infinite spaces. Characterised by their warmth, movement, and emotional depth, her paintings balance colour and light to create powerful, evocative experiences that border on pure abstraction.
