OWN ART | Interest-free original artwork

OWN ART is a national, government backed initiative that makes buying contemporary art more accessible, convenient and affordable by providing an interest-free loan for the purchase of original artwork.

An OWN ART loan of up to £2,500 can be used to purchase any original paintings or sculptures from Oil Art Advisory. However, artworks in our secondary market category and our printed photographic editions are excluded from this scheme.

A loan can also be used as part payment towards a higher priced item or to combine several lower priced items under one loan.

Loan repayments are made by Direct Debit and paid back over 10 months in equal installments.

OWN ART is supported by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland and is available through eligible galleries across the UK.

CUSTOMER ELIGIBILITY

To qualify for finance, you must be aged 18 years or over and a UK resident for 3 or more years, with a personal bank account under your own name that allows direct debits. Additionally, you will need to be either employed, self-employed, retired or in receipt of disability allowance. A secure email address is also required to receive documents.

HOW TO APPLY

Once you've chosen the perfect painting or sculpture, just get in touch by phone or email or drop by the art gallery.

We'll be able to answer any questions you may have before taking you through the application procedure.

Once your loan is approved, your finance agreement will be emailed to you. You will need to sign and return the agreement before we can process a sale and hand over artwork.

If you're applying for the loan in person you will need to show proof of ID. This could be in the form of a passport, utility bill or your driving licence - along with a credit or debit card as proof of signature.
