This page provides an overview of our processes, from ordering to shipment and returns. Please consider it a basic guide, intended to offer quick answers to common questions. Although the information is accurate, as published on 01/10/24, nothing within it is intended to constitute legally binding terms and conditions, which can be found here.
Ordering
We process website orders via the Stripe Internet Payment Gateway, which uses industry standard encryption to secure all transactions.
Customers can also order by phone on 01565 758744 or by email to sales@oilartadvisory.com. Please remember to include your contact details, including a telephone number and your full address with the emailed order. Emailed orders will be sent a payment link to securely pay online.
Dispatch
In all instances, website orders are prepared for shipment as quickly as possible, and most are packaged and shipped within 1 or 2 days. However, some artworks may require framing and/or collection from secure storage prior to packaging, and heavy sculptures can require bespoke packing and different shipping arrangements to be made. Hence, some items may take additional time to prepare prior to shipment and you'll be informed should there be any delay.
If you're looking for a fast turnaround on a specific artwork, then please call us on 01565 758744 prior to placing your order, or email enquiries@oilartadvisory.com, or just ask a member of staff in the gallery, and we'll be able to offer an ETA and hopefully expidite the shipment.
A shipping notification will be emailed to you when your order is dispatched, along with the relevant tracking information.
Tom Faulkner
Most Tom Faulkner decorative furnishings are made to order and the lead-time can be up to 12 weeks for certain pieces. Your order will be shipped directly from their UK manufacturing facility and you'll be advised of an ETA during this period.
Packaging
Framed artworks are shipped with foam corner-protectors inside bubble wrap and may be additionally protected with cardboard, especially if glazed or heavy. Sculptures are protected with padding and are boxed prior to shipping.
Shipping Options
Collect from the Knutsford Gallery
Website orders can also be collected from our Knutsford gallery. Please select this option during checkout if required. Free parking spaces are available outside the gallery and alternative parking is located at the entrance to the Knutsford Railway Station, which is about 30m before the gallery; just turn left after driving under the railway bridge, or in the King Street car park; take the next right after the gallery, about 80m further on.
Free local delivery within 15 miles
Additionally, Oil offers free local delivery within 15 miles for most artworks. Please contact the gallery to make arrangements when ordering by phone or email, or select, "Free Local Delivery within 15 miles" during checkout on the website, and a staff member will contact you to check eligability and to make the neccessary arrangements.
Delivery by Courier
Shipping for framed artworks and sculptures is undertaken by courier and we charge a flat rate of £35 for most UK deliveries, however, an additional charge may apply for heavier or bulky items and this will be determined at checkout, prior to payment.

Cancellation & Returns
For the specific and definitive policy on your right to cancel an order, and return an item purchased from Oil Art Advisory, either through our website or as a customer within the art gallery, please refer to our terms and conditions.
In General Terms
Customers have a right to return an item for a full refund within 14 days of taking delivery. However, this right excludes: items that have been specifically tailored to a customers requirements, which may incude artworks with custom frames, or original paintings commissioned from an artist, and it excludes items shipped in "good order" but damaged while in the customers possession.
In any instance, customers wishing to cancel an order and return an item are required to contact us in writing during the first 14 days after delivery, (by letter or email), to The Oil Art Advisory Gallery, 8 King Street, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 6DL or by emailing sales@oilartadvisory.com. Please include your contact information and the product details, including the name of the artist and the title of the artwork. A purchase receipt is required prior to issuing a refund, which can only be issued when the items have been returned, undamaged. Refunds can only be made to the same credit or debit card originally used to make the purchase and are made within 14 days after receiving the returned item.
Own Art Scheme
If you purchase items using the interest-free Own Art scheme, and, for whatever reason, cancel your credit agreement within the first 14 days, you must immediately arrange alternative payment for any items purchased under the scheme. Cancellation of your finance agreement does not equate to the cancellation of the sales contract with Oil Art Advisory, nor constitute an entitlement to a refund.
