A warm welcome to artist Dave Colton
While most of us were bored out of our minds during the Covid19 lockdown of 2020/21, Dave Colton used the time productively and produced a series of humorous drawings that would lead to the publishing of his book, Anarchy in the Art Gallery.
Each work is a conglomeration of unrealised scenarios. A series of 'what-ifs', where the Shopkeeper sends Mr. Benn to 'Clockwork Orange land', Frank Sinatra sings a duet with Orville the Duck, and Geoffrey, George, Bungle and Zippy get sozzled in the pub after a days filming.
We have a total of 65 of the original, coloured pastel drawings which were created by Dave for the book and these are available to buy from the website or directly from the gallery. Selecting the framed option will get you the original work, beautifully framed and mounted under glass.
If you're a Gen X or older, you're going to enjoy this collection, but be warned, David Colton has a PhD in contemporary art philosophy and some of his references demand previous exposure to a broad spectrum of the arts in order to comprehend the punch-lines.
