"Orna approaches her work with passion and her uplifting paintings embody life, energy and optimism.”

ORNA SCHNEERSON PASCAL

Abstract | Brighton, England

Orna Schneerson Pascal is a British-Israeli artist whose vibrant abstract works are known for their rhythmic patterns, rich color palettes, and uplifting energy. Originally from Haifa, Israel, she developed an early passion for decorating objects with bold designs and expressive imagery, laying the foundation for her distinctive artistic voice.

Her creative path took her to Paris, where she first explored fashion design before fully embracing painting as her primary medium. In 1991, she moved to London and began showcasing her art, earning early recognition through exhibitions in Covent Garden, Mayfair, and East London.

Eventually settling in Brighton in 2001, Schneerson Pascal became an active part of the local art scene, participating in group exhibitions and the city’s May arts festival. She primarily paints with acrylics, which allow her to build up dynamic layers and textures. Her work often features recurring motifs—such as trees, faces, and fish—that dance across the canvas in vivid, kaleidoscopic compositions.

Among her key milestones was a solo exhibition at the historic Farley Farm House Gallery in 2016, where her work was displayed alongside the legacy of surrealist icons. In 2020, she won a public art competition hosted by Habitat Brighton, resulting in one of her designs being turned into a hand-embroidered cushion for retail.

Now based in Brighton, Schneerson Pascal continues to create from her home studio, sharing her joyful, pattern-filled works with audiences both locally and abroad, including exhibitions in London, Tel Aviv, and Cornwall.
