somewhere between the surreal and the symbolic
MARK SHEEKY
Surrealism| Cheshire, England

Mark Sheeky (born 1972) is a multifaceted British artist based in Cheshire, England, best known for his work as a painter, musician, author, and computer game designer. Originally passionate about computer game design from a young age, he developed and published numerous games before turning seriously to the visual arts in 2004.
As a painter, working primarily in oils, Sheeky is known for images that sit somewhere between the surreal and the symbolic, frequently exploring themes of memory, psychology and the uncanny. He has exhibited widely across the UK, with his work included in the British National Art Collection and featured in prestigious venues such as the Royal West of England Academy, The Mall Galleries in London, and The Lowry in Manchester, and he has won numerous awards, including first prizes at major open art exhibitions.
In addition to his visual art, Sheeky is a prolific creator in other fields: he has composed and released dozens of music albums spanning genres from pop to classical, co-founded the Cornutopia Music label, and performed as a pianist. He is also an author of several books on art and poetry, and has worked in collaborative performance pieces that blend spoken word and music. Throughout his career, Sheeky has maintained an interdisciplinary approach, integrating painting, music, writing, and game development into a singular artistic practice that reflects his broad creative ambitions.
