emotionally charged human figures in scenes of tension or introspection
MALWINA CHABOCKA
Abstract Figurative Artist | The Hague, Netherlands
Malwina Chabocka, [pron. Mal-VEE-na HA-BOT-SKA], is a Polish-born artist, based in The Hague, Netherlands. She studied at Camberwell College of Arts and Central Saint Martins in London before completing a Master's in Stage Design with distinction at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. With a background in performance and physical theatre, her work is deeply rooted in psychological and emotional themes, often exploring vulnerability, desire, and the subconscious. Since 2018, she has focused primarily on painting and has exhibited across Europe, including in the UK, Portugal, Poland, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.
Malwina's style blends expressionism and figuration, featuring emotionally charged human figures in scenes of tension or introspection. She works primarily in acrylics, sometimes combining them with oils, using bold contours, flat colour fields, and spontaneous brushwork. Her compositions often reflect an interest in Freudian theory and neuroscience, inviting viewers to confront their own inner worlds. Through this approach, Chabocka creates a visual language that is both personal and psychologically evocative.
