Debbie Goldsmith is a British artist based in Cheshire, renowned for her vibrant abstract paintings and innovative textile works. In recent years, Goldsmith has expanded her artistic repertoire by creating hand-tufted rugs that serve as tactile extensions of her paintings. Utilising genuine Axminster wool sourced from deadstock at a historic mill in Halifax, she crafts richly textured pieces that echo the abstract forms and colour palettes of her original artworks. Goldsmith's art has been exhibited extensively across the UK and internationally. Notably, her paintings were selected for display in the atrium and restaurant of The Lowry Hotel in Manchester as part of its original interior design scheme in 2001. Her work has also been showcased at venues such as Manchester Art Gallery, the British Council in São Paulo, the London Art Fair, and Salford Museum & Art Gallery.
