"Capturing the Light" was inspired by a beautiful forest near my studio in the Peak District. My creative process begins with walks through this woodland, where I feel deeply connected to the natural world. This connection forms the foundation of my work and evolves through an intuitive, imaginative approach to painting.

In this piece, light filters through vibrant leaves, creating the impression of sunlight breaking through the trees. The delicate textures, shaped with a palette knife, introduce a subtle sense of abstraction in the foreground. Through refined painting techniques, I’ve aimed to convey depth and distance, inviting the viewer to feel as though they are journeying into the scene itself.
